Our family goes back hundreds of years to Hungary, where we were farmers.
Grandfather immigrated to Louisiana and became a strawberry farmer, making wines and winning farming contests.
To make chocolate-covered strawberries, start with chocolate almond bark
or 8 oz of your favorite chocolate and 2 TBSP of Crisco, melted together.
I melt chocolate on high in microwave for about 1.5 minutes,
then stir with a teaspoon to remove any lumps.
Dip washed and dried strawberry in chocolate so that only half is covered;
place on parchment paper to dry. I don't make these very often. As my brothers say as they munch on fresh strawberries, why waste perfectly good chocolate?
